So... Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz Sharif. They pointed at the tip of iceberg, disqualified it and asked NAB to uncover the iceberg. While Nawaz Sharif claims the tip of iceberg does't count the elephant in the room is tired of being ridiculed. Corruption, inefficiency, indecision, incapability as a leader.. There is a long lis of charges..
He has in another questionable move has decided to go to Lahore Via GT road. Apparently he thinks he can gather some people and make his presence felt. Its absurd. Its not stupid, its not borderline absurd, its pure absurdity. His party is in power, he is still the party chief despite ECP declaring it void and he exercises de facto control over the Federal government, Full control over Punjab and Balochistan government, wink of an eye style understanding with Sindh Government and it appears he does at some Level enjoy some sort of settle meant with kph gov. And gov in Kashmir and GB.

What would it achieve? In the times we are living there is a clear and present danger of someone taking the opportunity and committing acts of terror to destabilise the country. Ironically his supporters and at least one federal minister(Khwaja asif) has used pictures of Mumtaz Qadri's funeral to claim that people are out in streets to support them. Irony is lost at the situation..

Apparently he has been unable to gather a few ten thousand goons for photo op
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt;">The word “Baghi” or “Rebel” has a
certain appeal to it. In Pakistan I personally attribute it to a century of
racist colonial rule. During those days little acts of “rebellion” were
considered heroic. Pakistanis have a passion for rebellion. Cartoonist Javed
Iqbal is sometimes “rebellious” against injustice in his artistic and positive
way whereas Mullah Fazlullah’s FM radio in Swat at the time rebellion in a
different and negative way. PTI has used the termed “Daaghi” (stained) to
clarify the difference between “Baghi” rebels and “Daghi” rebel.

<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt;">History of <span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">coups d'état<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt;">s is as old as the history of civilization itself. Fathers
have killed and have been killed by sons, sons by mothers, mothers by sons,
brother by brother (most often) and the history of conspiracies is as
comprehensive as coups. We remember Shah Jahan for his love for Mumtaz Mehal
and the resulting Tomb(Taj Mehal), the monument of love. We rarely recall that
he was eventually imprisoned by his own son; the much celebrated Aurangzeb to
save a collapsing empire, and died in house arrest near the very Taj Mehal
after 8 years in confinement. Wife of Jahangir, daughter in law of Akbar Nur
Jehan(real name Mehr ul Nisa) once ruled India through her husband. It’s a
matter of legends and it’s said she ruled India through Jahangir’s heart. Even
coins were minted on her name. She was probably the most powerful woman in the
history of Sub Continent. Her niece being Mumtaz Mehal, her step son being Shah
Jehan. Her brother Asif Khan sided with her step son during a power struggle
afer the death of Jehangir and imprisoned her. She spent her last 17 years
(1628-1645) in relative seclusion. She wrote poetry with the pen name of
“Makhfi” (meaning hidden). One of her verses echoes in one’s ear when one
visits her tomb.

<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt;">In Lahore. One can drive towards
Shahdarra using the Saggiaan Bridge, and witness history for oneself. There is
Mughal Emperor Jahangir’s tomb. Then there is Nur Jehan’s Tomb whose grave is
alongside her daughter. Then there is
the Tomb of her brother Asif Khan.
Despite inefficiency of department of archaeology it is a great piece of
history. A reminder that Allah alone is all mighty, the once mighty of the
world eventually always fall. It is interesting to note that the real grave of
Noor Jehan is actually under the structure erected upstairs. If you talk to the
guide, and he feels generous (or u grease his palms) he would take u down
stairs and show you. The verse I quoted

<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt;">Anyway as usual I am writing as I
think and have deviated from topic a bit (not a lot). This IS human history. It is inevitable that when there is a
possibility of a Government being taken over by someone it would be.

<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt;">From Ancient Egypt to Greeks to
Romans to Khilafat it happened. Sometimes there is a political coup, when an
elected leader is replaced by his own party through political maneuverings. A
coup due to very basic human nature is inevitable. Except of course when the
Government leave no room for one. The
change through institutionalized means has been incorporated in modern day
world, but it still happens. Kennedy was murdered. Four sitting US Presidents
have been assassinated since the inception of US constitution and there are
more then 20 known attempts to assassinate a sitting former or President elect.
That figure does not include Presidential candidates.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 24.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 18.0pt;">No other party has had the
strongest grip on power then the Nazi Party. When the Nazi Germany was staring
at an imminent defeat there was an attempted coup. They tried to use the
reserve German Army to take control of the SS after assassinating Hitler. And
negotiate favorable surrender with Allies when they still had bargaining power.
The assassination failed, however the plotters thought it had succeeded and
went on with the plot anyway. The plot failed but it was inches away from
removing Hitler from power(one year before the end of World War), and it came
down to a Major named Otto Ernst Remer. To arrest second most powerful man in
Europe(Goebells). Major realized he is being played when Goebbels connected him
to Fuehrer (Hitler) and didn’t arrest him. The plot eventually failed after
Hitler recovered from his non life threatening injuries and many senior
plotters refused to go ahead. And the plot was a failure once the plotters had
no Army at their disposal. <span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 24.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 18.0pt;">For coup to occur there are
some essential requirements. A weak government. Strong conspirators, preferably
part of the government but discontent. A public which has grievances. A leader
which is disconnected with public and probably a whole lot of other factors. <span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 24.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 18.0pt;">In Pakistan it is wrong to
call military take over a coup. In effect they are mini revolutions. Justice
Munir correctly wrote in his decision in favor of Ayub Khan that when a coup is
successful and people accept it, it becomes a revolution. Invoking doctrine of necessity
‘that<span style="font-family: "+b" , "serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 24.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 18.0pt;"> which is otherwise not
lawful is made lawful by necessity'. The system in Pakistan rotten, there is no
doubt about it. It is rotten to the core and even the most dedicated future
leaders would have to work overtime to replace it and make a system work. Every
time there was been a military takeover in Pakistan there was indeed widespread
discontent in Public. Economic growth, job create, reduction in poverty,
reduction in crime rate and many other macro indicators are an easy argument
and I choose to go with them since specific incidents would take too much time.
In 1958 politicians who were corrupt to the core where running successive
governments alongiwth the never changing bureaucracy. An argument which I find
very appealing is, all of the politicians who were disqualified through EBDO
after Martial Law have been forgotten by the history and people (Electected
body disqualification ordinance). Please note initially even Mohtarma Fatima
Jinnah welcomed Martial Law.<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

<span style="font-family: "+b" , "serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 24.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 18.0pt;">In 1977
the sentiment of people was a lot like the sentiment of Turks who are against
the coup. Bhutto had clearly rigged the elections (some even filling ballot
boxes at home). Bhutto did not have a majority in undivided Pakistan in 1971,
he massively rigged the elections in 1977 and PPP has never had a clear
majority since. If what Bhutto did in 1977 was not a coup I don’t know what is.
At the time Gen.Zia took power country had been at a standstill for weeks. For
days it was barely functional, if not dysfunctional at all. Offices, schools
colleges even essential services were not able to function. When their time for
Oathtaking PPP “elected” members had to be hauled on helicopters instead of
roads due to condition of law and order. Just before Bhutto was removed he had
ordered army to use force if necessary. This has happened twice in history when
Pakistan Army has been asked to fire on innocent civilians. Once in 1968, then
in 1977. Both times governments were replaced. In 1968 after an unfortunate
series of events, Pakistan Army came eye to eye with civilians on civilian
government’s orders(Ayub was President Gen.Yahya was CNC). They drew a line and
announced anyone crossing it would be fired upon. An old man dared and was shot
down, after him two shopkeepers of Antalkali Bazaar were shot. Commanding
officer in the field had enough of his superiors and went against the orders he
had received through chain of commands ordering CEASEFIRE and a retreat. Second
time it was 1977, many officers refused to carry out the order and many
including a few Brigadiers were sacked. In 1968 Gen.Yahya intervened, applauded
by Bhutto and other politicians (YouTube videos are available). And much to the
relief of people Gen.Zia moved in 1977. The question is, should they have
allowed the country to the fate of eventual civil war? <span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

<span style="font-family: "+b" , "serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 24.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 18.0pt;">Imran
Khan, a famous politicians with a cult like following claims (for many years
now) that Pakistan has hit rock bottom and we can only go up from here. He
claims it every year and also mentions how situation is worse than last time he
held a procession. Maybe he has no idea what hitting the rock bottom is like.
Instead of flying to his favorite retreats in London or five star hotels in
Asia he should fly to Baghdad. He should go to Aleppo, he should go to Sudan.
Maybe then he would refrain from using this argument.<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

<span style="font-family: "+b" , "serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 24.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 18.0pt;">Then in
1999, Indian narrative was building up in the world media, we were near to an
economic collapse. There was great resentment in Pakistan due to his friendly
moves towards India despite Indian nuclear tests. Economy was struggling, corruption
and nepotism was extreme. The tipping point came when Prime minister issued a
summary dismissal of Army chief overriding the chain of commands posted
Gen.Butt who started issuing orders from PM house. The then little known Army
Chief was in air heading to Pakistan from a conference in Sri Lanka. Only time
in our history where the most dangerous situation occurred, generals getting
contradictory orders. Thankfully, core commanders followed protocol and
disregarded orders from Gen.Butt following orders from GHQ. Thus avoiding a
catastrophe. PM also issued orders to air the news on national television and
divert Army Chief’s plane. The plane of Army chief was allowed to land when
military took over the airport, apparently with little fuel. People were tired
of the system, they (like the previous take over’s) distributed sweets and
celebrated in joy. Hoping for a better future. <span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

<span style="font-family: "+b" , "serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 24.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 18.0pt;">Coming
back to the Baghi or Daghi debate, as Justice Munir observed when a coup is
successful and people accept it, it becomes a revolution. That was not the case
when Musharraf declared emergency in 2007. People did not distribute sweets,
Musharraf had to reverse the decision, restore the Supreme Court and transfer
power shortly after that.<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

<span style="font-family: "+b" , "serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 24.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 18.0pt;">Military
in Turkey has a long history of intervention in politics. Ataturk, a Pasha (general)
once himself prohibited the role of military in politics in 1930. However
Turkish military (reformed after the collapse of Ottoman Empire saw itself as
the guardians of “Kemalism” or “Attaturkism”. Attaturkism is basically
separation of state from religion or in essence the transition from Ottoman
collapse to a modern secular state with a broad spectrum of reforms and Turkish
nationalism. In 1960 the PM had an apparent tilt towards Islam, Military staged
a coup, PM along with senior ministers were charged with treason to
constitution and executed. Constitution was amended so military could intervene
legally as they saw fit. In 1971 and 1980 there were two more legal coup.<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

<span style="font-family: "+b" , "serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 24.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 18.0pt;">I knew in
hearts of heart that a coup in Turkey would fail. When I first heard about it I
read about Prime Minister Yildrim's defiant statement. There and then I was
sure the coup has failed, I was sure at least a large part of Government is not
under arrest, or to be honest dead. I hoped Erdogan would be alive and when I
saw his facetime message my belief was reaffirmed. Looked to be without the
support of masses or armed forces some group is attempting a coup. Looked like
they were following a playbook from the 70s. And in the end elected Turkish
Government backed by people and majority of military succeeded in a swift
counter coup. <span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

called for public support and lead the response by putting himself in the line
of fire by landing in Istanbul air port. In a few ten minutes the coup had
backfired and confused soldiers, most of which believed it was a military exercise
surrendered. <span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

it.<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 24.0pt;">

Pakistan due to sheer incompetence and corruption government with their born
entitlfled attitude is unable to even provide 24/7 electricity. When you go to
police in case of a crime in Pakistan (God forbid) they would be asking you for
petrol to arrest the criminal in case you yourself can spot them. In a

UN resolution No 307 adopted on 21th December 1971(Bhutto walked out on 15 March PST)

At 16th December 1971 Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto refused to comply with the UN resolution that called for cease fire and cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan. After days he spent resting due to "flu" when world debated what to do when he finally showed up he tore up the resolution and walked away. Fact was with full Soviet support Indians had bypassed most of 45000 regular troops spread over in East Pakistan(through hellebore landing) and were closing in on Dhaka. Situation was desperate, handful(roughly two division) of our troops were almost our of ammunition. We didn't even attack with vigor in the west due to several factors including Indo Soviet treaty of Friendship and Co operations. Our forces were outnumbered 11-1 by Mitro Bahini(Indian Army And Mukti Bahini Alliance). However we were prepared in the west, and the international system of alliances gave us some sort of leverage. Read the text of UN resolution 307 and make up your mind why did Bhutto tear it. How is it any less treacherous then what Mir Jaffar or Mir Sadiq did?
Here is the resolution passed on 3rd of December

http://daccess-ods.un.org/TMP/3305687.60633469.html

Then there is the resolution passed on 21st December 1971(Bhutto walked away on 16th December). Had Bhutto not commit ed treason history of 1971 would have been different. At worst India and Pakistan would both have to withdraw and Pakistan Army would get peaceful and Honourable exist along with refugees.
They say its impossible right? I don't agree. It was only some two years back that Indian Government went into panic over a false alarm.

Before we talk about the possibility of a coup d'état. Lets talk about a "Self-Coup". As per the ever (not so much) reliable wikipedia

A self-coup (or autocoup) is a form of putsch or coup d'état in which a nation's leader, despite having come to power through legal means, dissolves or renders powerless the national legislature
and unlawfully assumes extraordinary powers, not granted under normal
circumstances. Other measures taken may include annulling the nation's constitution and suspending civil courts. In most cases the head of government becomes a dictator.

What do you need to become a Hitler? Or a Mussolini? You need a strong right wing(check), an uninterested military(check), corrupt leaders who only care about themselves(check), ultra nationalists(check), an ideology written from scratch(almost), or highly distorted one(check), racism(check), propaganda machinery(check), world domination complex(check), a leader with complex unresolved issues and a potential psychopathic personality traits who is in power(check), enemy or perception of one(check), discredited previous government(check), a population deprived of their due rights(check), superpower level ability to sell dreams(check).

Then there is Indian argument that India is too big for a coup to be staged. Is it? do we all not know what happened after Stalin and before Brezhnev in Soviet Union? What exactly would state Governments do in scenario of a coup? Rebel? Declare Independence? Refuse to recognise Central Government? They don't actually have a military or paramilitary force(states in India).

It is a reality that a coupe (soft coup at best) may be underway in world's most unstable nuclear power where some attest 40% of population lives without access to electricity and at least 50% of population is without toilets.

Recently their minister claimed their GDP Growth was 10.5% when another Hindu extremist, Bajpaee was in power. When the fact is, it was 6.5% when he assumed power(1998), at max it was 8.5% and at its lowest it was 3.8% during his rule.

Their Defense Minister has recently applauded the use of terror as a state policy. The Coup is already underway. Its time to stop the rise of another Hitler..This time in India

Terrorist Groups have existed almost since the Dawn of time, they have existed, spread misery and have vanished. There are no traces of feared groups like Hashisheen, the spiritual fathers of TTP Daish, Iranian intelligence and many others.
What to do with MQM is a question that has haunted many. The answer to the MQM question is not exactly very complicated. Part of their blood money goes to their (failed) psy ops in Pakistan media. A lot of that is in turn goes to projecting their presence as something that is synonymous with Karachi. However it can not be farther from the truth. Their capabilities in urban warfare and their political support is highly exaggerated.

A terrorist group like MQM is very easy to eliminate once will is there. Sure, they have established local funding sources like extortion, kidnapping for ransom, bank robberies, even petty theft and mugging. However the kind of organisation they are running, the artificial nature of it, the superficial mask which sucks up so much of their resources is not easy to finance. Ban them, cut their foreign funding, ISI can do it in a split second. MQM would be left with too many criminals to feed, a hostile government and dwindling funds. These target killers, muggers and thugs have no loyalties.

Their loyalty is with MQM because of Funding, protection from police ..Political support and the sense of protection the Umbrella of MQM provides. Take that away and in a likely scenario they would turn on their own masters. Ban them on media. Go to EU and talk to them how England is harboring a terrorist group and their leaders Altaf.

It can happen, Jamaat e Islami was banned in JI, Ikhwan were banned in Egypt. They had little if any links to militants at all. MQM is a right wing extremist terrorist terrorist organization with Indian backing that portrays itself as a political part that supposedly represents a city. In Pakistan we have precedence. NAP(National Awami Party) was outlawed after it was established that Wali Khan and co are involved in terrorist activities. And crimes of MQM once made public might put Daesh to shame. They once burned some 300 people alive just to make a point(extortion related) in the Baldia Town factory fire alone. Its time to ACT.

And ..Action would be taken.
Pakistan is a sacred trust, the way ASEAN countries have treated poor Rohingya Muslims is a Grimm reminder of the principles Pakistan if founded upon. Those who oppose Pakistan would suffer in this life and the after. What is happening in Burma? Indian backed Buddhist Gov is persecuting this community of Muslims. Stripped of nationality, persecuted attacked and abandoned, some of them tried to enter Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Thailand. Bangladesh refused upfront. Thailand has rather politely declined but Indonesia and Malaysia have refused to allow refugees to enter their countries outright. They would even send them back if they somehow enter their countries.

In 1979 when Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, Pakistan opened its doors to millions of Refugees..A fact a lot of people now due to whatever God forsaken reason criticise. Some even claim Pakistan only allowed them because Pakistan had a hidden agenda of Colonising Afghanistan and getting international aid while they prepare Mujaheddin for world domination.

According to a newspaper "establishment post":

With the lives of thousands in jeopardy it is not chastisement but
deafening silence that characterises Asean’s ‘response’. Asean as an
organisation has said nothing at all, and Asean members seem to be
complicit in the misery of the Rohingya rather than attempting to find a
solution.
It is logistically very difficult for Pakistan to help Burma, however it is not impossible. Things can happen. Events can be set in motion. And I feel it would eventually be Pakistan who would settle the issue one way or another. However logistically its a seemingly impossible task. However Burmese Government hasn't even dream of what might come for them, well eventually.

Lets keep the Grey area aside. Some two Million tourists visited Burma in 2013. What for? God alone knows. Probably because its cheap when Euro or Dollar is converted into Burmese currency. Contact between locals and tourists is discouraged by the Government. I wonder why do tourists go to Burma. Good lobbying the tourism would vanish. That's really not something difficult. Its all about perception, if reality about Burma is properly explained to people tourism in Burma would come to an abrupt halt. Most of the money from tourism never make it to people, private sector and to those who are in power.

Who needed another war? Who planned it? And what for? Answer is clear and ..Well Iran should have thought before jumping into another war. Have they not caused enough destruction in Afghanistan and Iraq through their rag tag Shia militias and whatever tool they saw fit to use.

It amazes me how they can wear the white hat of righteous Islamic state while use "everything is fair in love and war" theory. Its time someone puts Iranians and Saudis in a room and sort out the issues. Syria.. Iraq.. Afghanistan.. Let them be independent nation states free of Iranian or Saudi influence. And quite frankly what Iran did in Iraq was their own fault, no one asked them or compelled them to do it. In Syria one might or might not blame Saudis or Americans but in Iraq Iran was complicit in removing Saddam, disbanding their military and loot and plunder by pro Iranian Government and Militias that followed.

They just needed their piece of pie, if that led to rise of ISIS apparently that's not a problem. Same thing in Afghanistan, when Soviets withdrawal and eventually the regime they installed collapsed Iran quickly jumped in to support Masood's faction starting a civil war in 1992 which continues to date. Iran happily collaborated with US in Afghanistan for sectarian reason and expansionist policies while happily calling it "the great devil".

This hypocrisy must end now. And I say that as a well wisher or Iran and Saudi Arabia. What Iran has done over the years would come to haunt them. Saudis have supported Wahabi brand of Islam. However they did not use minority sects as a collateral for their own benefits. Allegations of Racism on Iranian regime have already started.

Here are the possible outcomes

1.Iran backs out Houthis sign a peace deal Gov in Yemen is restored(doesn't seem likely).
2.Saudi Arabia and Iran make peace and a peace is negotiated on Syria and Yemen(not likely either)
3.Arabs and Iranians fight till one of them is left
4.A regime change in Iran.(possible in a few years) And by Regime I mean the whole structure that supports the revolution.
5.Arabs create a forces consisting of many countries, they need it for situations like Libya anyway. They either reinstall Government in Yemen either swiftly or in a bloody battle. Iran sits at home considering their houthi allies collateral and material for future propaganda.

Things are a mess. Serious leadership is needed. US is sitting back and is glad to watch anything that happens see and make a policy after the dust settles. So is the UN. The fact is Iran can not support the rag tag militias in Yemen and some forces loyal to them which are light infantry at best. And badly paid and self trained thugs at worst. Why Iran did what it did is another topic and my next blog post would probably be about it. It was a gross miscalculation on their part in any case.

Is everything about petty politics now? Pakistani politicians sound like they are in some role play game of some sort, without a thought process of their own. The "ratta" or repeating what they hear or read is really amusing at times.

Ideally, Pakistan should mediate between Arabs and Iranians. However the leaders have are no where near Liaquat Ali Khan or Sir Zafrullah.

Closest thing we have to a leader is Imran Khan. He has resemblance to a person who can become a national leader. However I have serious doubts about his vision and understanding of foreign affairs and geopolitical realities. He has let down the nation once again.

Imran Khan has went against joining the coalition out rightly. This is simply outrageous. In the world we live in we can not be neutral. Ideally Pakistan should play the role of an aggressive peacemaker. Our foreign minister flying between Al Riyadh Tehran and wherever Yemeni rebels prefer. Why has the UN been already bypassed? An expected Russian Veto can be bypassed, there is precedence. However at least it should have been discussed in Security Council.

Then there is OIC. Yes it exists, it can be given a role. However all that is not happening and there is no possibility of thing changing hence the discussion itself might be futile. The world is a different place now, then it was a hundred years back. Arab Governments as someone rightly put it are not as strong as they once were(before Arab spring). Naturally jumping into what might become a full blown sectarian war is not good for Pakistan. However we have to see things objectively and in the long run.

Religion and sects aside. Who is winning? What are the goals of both parties? In my opinion Iran is on the wrong side of history. They are the main culprit behind post soviet Afghan Civil war.

They have portrayed themselves as messiahs of shias all over the world(which they are not). In reality they have cause massive suffering to shia community for the interest of their nation state. What business they had of supporting rebels in Yemen to topple the Government. How would an ungoverned state of Yemen not lead to rise of ISIS like groups controlling pockets or regions?

What about necessary services? What about people there? What about the human cost? Self righteousness is easy, facts are hard.

The question is what can and should Pakistan do? In my opinion joining the alliance is the right thing to do, however it should be strictly conditional. There is precedence for Military presence in Saudi Arabia for strictly defencive purpose it territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia is threatened or an outside force attacks the country. That is our best option and i Do think in the end Pakistan would take this option. We have extensive knowledge of low intensity conflicts and our military experts can help Saudis in advisory capacity.

Who are our friends in middle east who never back stabbed us? We all know that(issues with Wahabi militancy apart)? Turkey has already made their position crystal clear. They support Saudis. Probably after a hundred years. They can see ISIS is being replaced with equally brutal Shia militants.

Government in Yemen must be restored. If God Forbid Saudi Arabia is destabilised Pakistan is next on Iran's hit list considering their track record. They have collaborated with India to create unrest in Baluchistan in the past and supported shia militancy, not to mention attempted encirclement of Islamabad in the 1980s. Iran would end up being the loser when the dust settles. Its amusing to see how pro Iran clerics in Pakistan are propagating about peace with Afghanistan. US would NEVER side with Iran in the conflict in the long run and the white house has already made it clear.

Iran is a great country with great people and amazing history, their government needs a conciliatory approach then being passive aggressive and supporting militancy in other countries. Al Assad for example has lost, Syrians suffer(Wahabis to be blamed equally) and its time to negotiate for a new Government which Iran refuses. They are happy with Al Assad controlling a few urban centres and an official President.

What are our options? Should we reverse our policy altogether and stand with Iran who refuses to support us on Kashmir openly and remains a strategic partner of India(time for bitter truth). Then India with its scavenging foreign policy would move to Saudi Arabia. What Iran has to offer us anyway? They refused to give ue oil during Zardari era on deferred payments and we have to go to IMF(Neither did Saudis but thats a different issue, Zardari was pro Iranian). Would India then not rush to Saudi Arabia and try to fill the void?

Neutrality is not an option for us now, we must help Saudi Arabia restore peace in Yemen. However Pakistan should assure Iran it is strictly a defencive measure and any mischief from Iranian intelligence would be met with a similar response or worse. We are friends of Iran, if they that changed it means they had planned it all along. Iran has never been weaker militarily diplomatically or economically. We don't want to destabilise them further and we have always offered a secure border and it should remain this way.

That being said, the nation.. no matter what the views or sect should support the policy of Federal Government no matter what course they take.

Nawaz Sharif and his cabinet is simply incompetent, it should be a decision for the military.

Saudi diplomats have said in the past that they are not mere spectators in Pakistan’s affairs but active participant. This is also true for Pakistanis. Pakistan can not be mere spectators as things

Militarily speaking, Pakistan is over stretched, yes. That has a lot to do with economy; However, we have a strategy which is fairly working for now. Can we see our allies in Arab world dip in abyss of Chaos? Should we fear the nuisance value of Iran too much to forget our allies who have despite all their short coming and negative roles have helped us at times when we needed serious strategic help? 1971 and sanctions after nuclear tests are on example.

Shiaism is not a threat and people of the Shia sect/school of though should be respected but Iranian regime is certainly a threat to middle east(even greater middle east) and a small nuisance to Israel at worst. Sponsoring people who have made Yemen stateless is simply unacceptable.

The operation to restore Government in Yemen however must be swift and independence of Yemen is not negotiable, collateral damage should minimised. Revenge killings in even of a victory must be suppressed at all costs(by force if necessary). Other then that there is little to debate. Message to Saudi Arabia is simple, you have money which can buy half the world. Use it wisely and in a way history remembers you kindly and when you stand before almighty on the day of judgment you are not ashamed.

War in Yemen would end swiftly. Blockade Yemen using Navy(no aid for rebels) and send Muslim peacekeepers, para troopers and special forces which would help the now ousted government.

We live in times
when events unfold rapidly. Especially for those who bury their heads
in sands like ostrich. It was probably year 1998 or 99. Yahoo! Clubs
were the “in” thing back then. I remember this group where
members and admins used to hangout and talk. I think the word admin
was not used at the time, it was either founder or co founder(of the
club). There were people, interesting people, good people with great intellect. Lebanese, Egyptian, perhaps Libyan Iraqis Pakistanis Indians .. All kind of people, all kind of nationalities. At the time the very fact was thrilling that we could all interact.

I am guessing many of you can figure Conspiracy Theories were discussed a lot. However there was a clear understanding at the time that.. A Pan Islamic Organisation with goals to overthrow incompetent governments is on the cards. No one had heard of Al Qaeda, OBL was just a nobody. Some Militant hiding in some Godforsaken cave like structure(or actual cave). Rarely discussed except when US carried out an unsuccessful missile strike on him. Taliban were primitive but peace in Afghanistan was a God sent and everyone expected them to "moderate" with the passage of time. And there was clear understanding at the time that (what now is called) reshaping of Middle East is on the cards. Maybe it is difficult to believe now. But he ground was ripe.

When I look at past now, the first hint of how things can go haywire was when Israel carried out an air strike in Lebanon blowing up their main power plant which provided some 70-80% of electricity for the country. It was some sort of joint punishment from Israel to Hizbullah(Or Hamas, don't really remember). I immediately emailed my net friend in Lebanon who replied almost promptly and after a small chat or email saying he is online but he has to go due to power shortage in the country. Email? Yahoo messenger, could be. It some 16-17 years, I don't recall exactly.

Lot of water has passed under the bridge since then, and discussing the last 17 years is.. well I might very well write a book.

Lets jump to 2015, Syria gone, recently TIME estimated using satellite imagery that 83% of lights in Syria have gone dark. Iraq, well there is nothing much to say on that. Libya...Same story. Afghanistan, well.. No words there.. Sudan divided and things have indeed gone (further) haywire there. Not to mention stateless Somalia.

In my Opinion the new world order is evolving, nature is taking its course(it always does) and no one exactly has a grip on it. Powerful people do interfere, normally they make things worse.

What to do with middle east? what is the core issue of Middle East Now? With all the due respect to Wahabi School of Thought and Iranian Revolutionaries(or Shia Clerics ruling Iran) this cold war must end. That being said no end is in sight in immediate future.

We have to ask ourselves, what went wrong with the US plan? Why did they attack Afghanistan and Iraq at the first place? In my opinion wise men implemented their knowledge of diplomacy and war from European theatre to middle east. It is true the world is a different place now and perhaps its no use talking of how Alexander or British performed in Afghanistan. That's another debate for another time.

There is always a point of talking about how we are where we are. However that's a very long debate. Jumping to today, what is Iran doing? What is Saudi Arabia doing?

Iran has not attacked another country for nearly 200 years. However they are guilty of using shia minorities to create unrest in different countries. Apparently the non Irani Shias are acceptable collateral damage for Irani regime. It is very difficult to understand Iran, during the 1980s they have accepted American help through Israel(through Pakistan) to maintain a stalemate in Iran Iraq war. They have in all probability co operated with Israel for Operation Opera(attack on Iraqi Nuclear installation). Then they are a major trading partner with India. Yet they use Shia minorities to create unrest in Pakistan and even India. However they have collaborated with India in the past to create unrest in Pakistan. Their mindset is very complicated and perhaps the feeling of Racial superiority is the best explanation. Right or wrong? I don't know, that at least makes some sense.

If their hearts bleeds for oppressed Muslims, how many times they have sided with Pakistan on Kashmir? What was their role during the Bosnian crisis? And now in their misguided wisdom they have mistaken a cold peace with US as some sort of silent understanding. They are meddling in Bahrain and now the militias they backed have almost taken over Yemen. ISIS is probably the worst terrorist group that existed, but what Iranians did after US invasion of Iraq played its part. Mehdi militia I read was no better then ISIS and apparently they have no problem using ISIS like tactics their proxies (militias) fighting with Iraqi army uses. And don't even get me started about their role in Afghanistan, they are one of the main forces behind the Afghan Civil war(after Soviet withdrawal) along with India and Russia. And now, at least on the surface they are quite satisfied with destruction of Syria until Iranian backed Bashar has some sort of control in a few cities.

Lets come to Saudis and GCC. They have skeletons in the closet, no question there. However post 9/11 they have adapted to situation and their major blunder was abandoning Pakistan and supporting Wahabi school of though(funding it) in Pakistan. Many of which have waged war against Pakistan killing more then a hundred thousand. Dynamics of Pakistan are different and Pakistanis have adsorbed heavy cost of human casualty and suffering and is standing strong. However Pakistan was(is) a friend they should NEVER have abandoned. During the Zardari era(2008-2012) they basically turned their policy around and starting building ties with India. For Pakistan it was blasphemy. Forget the debate that if it was cosmetic of not. It was a blunder and Saudis have and might pay dearly for it.

Now we have a situation where Iran has in their miscalculation have crossed a red line in Yemen they should not have. They have basically made Yemen stateless, mainly controlled by Militias backed by them who have (in all probability) serious internal rifts.

What are Saudi options? What should they do? What can they do at this point? Iranian nuclear program is a ruse and frankly it barely exists in some primitive form in my opinion. One one side Saudis have ISIS who have no regard for human life religion or sect. Then they have a shia minority in Dhahran Iran probably plans to use.

What option Iran has? What can they do? And what SHOULD they do?

Pakistan is a force multiplies and involvement of Pakistan on the side of Saudi Arabia would be a major game changer, however Pakistan is overstretched and goodwill for Saudi Arabia is at an all time low. Pakistan is fighting a very difficult existential war and tide has recently started to turn in their favor. They don't want another conflict with Iran. The war I'm Pakistan can take anywhere from 6 months to two years to end. At the movement there is no public opinion in favor of another full blown conflict.

Iranian options are limited, they are in over their heads. US has already got them by their weakest point, sanctions have really hit Iran hard. However the ruling junta is at least for now unaffected.

The squander the soldiers attitude of their generals worked against Saddam, like their second generation aircrafts and scuds. Many historians have pointed out that the post shah setup was more of an accident and they used the anger built in people over the years. That's another debate again.

US is no friend of Iran for several reasons

There is no holy book which says there can not be a coup, soft coup in Iran. Iran has gone either too far or far enough. They need to back down. What they did in Yemen I beyond some bargaining chip.

Saudis look surrounded but they have serious military hardware and allies. If there is an actual war with Yemen, by the time first shots would be fired Overwhelming public opinion in Pakistan would be pro Saudi and Pakistani troops fighting side by side Saudis would be a reality. we have some 7 hundred thousand reserves, expedited soldier training can produce a great soldier in six months. Squander the soldier mentality would not work with highly trained soldiers with one of the best military hardware in the world. Forget Pakistanis, Egyptians are well trained and battle hardened. Republicans are likely to come in power in US and Jeb Bush is expected to side with Saudis. Not that Obama is not playing Iranians but Republicans are especially known for their hawkish attitude against Iran.

Iran has enjoyed almost no interference from Pakistani or Afghan border. On the contrary they have been exporting their revolution(to put it in very soft words). To put it bluntly they have been sponsoring proxies for their benefits.

IF, now there is a big IF. Deals are struck, the border with Pakistan becomes insecure, the border with Afghanistan becomes insecure. Well Fourth Generation war.. even fifth would be upon Iran. And it is really really difficult to fight. Iran's neighbours have not troubled Iran. It has always been the other way around. Their Economy is shrinking and if their nuclear deal fails the status quo itself would mean trouble. With sanctions on Iran, Saudis can simply wait it out, not Iranians. Their GDP has dropped from 528.2 Billion$s in 2011 a year to 368.9 billion$s in 2013. With Iran spending so much on their proxies. A regime change may very well be on cards.

Now the Trillion dollar question.. What should Iran do? Desperate times..Desperate measures, over the years the role of Iran has been extremely negative in Afghanistan and Pakistan especially after the war on terror started. Its time to make some policy changes. They don't have nuke, simple as that. They are not a major threat to Israel, at the moment they are only getting Palestinians killed. Its time to stop exporting revolution, forget India shake hands with Pakistan. Empower Sunni tribes, make a trust and reconciliation commission or something and be the part of solution in Iraq.. not the problem. Same in Syria, Bashar has lost, Iran should help the transition into some stable government instead of providing oxygen to Bashar(that too barely). They should forget Afghanistan altogether, they have already caused a lot of trouble there. And Yemen, ask their proxies to make peace.

I can only hope sense would prevail. As we say in Urdu

"Dekhain Uunt Kis Karwat Beth ta hey"

Everything apart..Baksh do bhai!! No one needs another stateless region

Media is reporting for a few days with uncertainty that it has closed for operating without license and serving Alcohol without permission or Law to do it. AlJazeera now reported that it has been shut down. Interstingly as usual Aljazeera is taking twitter as "Voice of the people" and reporting the alleged "Mixed" reaction.

I do wonder however, whats up with Qadiani talk on twitter, trying as usual to connect this to their own cult(somehow) to the way Pakistanis as a nation should be treated like untouchables. Surprises me a bit. They should,(if they are Qadiani to begin with) remember the way Pakistanis have defended their human rights in this war against terror. More then a hundred thousand have died and at least twice(Probably more) seriously injured, less then 0.5 %..Way less are Qadianis.

So he was operating without license, had a boot lagging (Liqour) operation. And no reports of any legal proceedings against the owner just because he is "French" and yet some people in Pakistan have a "Mixed" feeling according to Aljazeera. To Comment on Aljazeera is itself a self defeating idea as it is known to have an agenda of its own. And I do think its pretty self evident by now.

Anyway, way to go administration...Handled what could have been a disaster wisely. Case closed as far I am concerned. Yet it should be kept in mind that such attempts would also be made in the future to create nonsense controversies which are barely of any use and can quickly get out of hand. Great caution and wisdom must be exercised when dealing with such issue. It is wise to cut them at the root instead of this becoming an international incident.

Since yesterday there is an outrage in Pakistanis about a French Restaurant in Islamabad which would not allow(refuse) Pakistanis entry, unless they are dual nationals or accompanied by "Foreigners".

Apparently the restaurant does employ Pakistanis and Muslims to serve
patrons, suggesting that it’s alright for them to be in a service
capacity and handle the non-halal food in the restaurant but not be
served there(Courtesy some article,this paragraph).

Before we go Def Con 1 on France, I must remind you Governor House Lahore has more or less the same policy in my opinion.

Whats the use defending at front vigorously if we are going to lose the ideological war in Islamabad, and we are going to allow ourselves to be treated like Colonial Subjects??

Frankly, like many it remind me of "Dogs and Indians not allowed" Snub from the British Colonial Rule. Apparently this stupid moron(no idea whats he doing in Pakistan offending Pakistanis anyway) says he wants to cause no offence because he is serving "Authentic" French cousine which is actually not Halaal.
It is outrageous because not only its against the law,but an "authentic" french would also serve good wine(I guess).

You can not serve alcohol in restaurants in Pakistan, non Muslim and Foreigners are allowed to hold permits which allows them to buy liquor and consume it in privacy.

Frankly this French restaurant in Diplomatic enclave sounds like some half baked conspiracy. What for? I don't know, what Frenchman in his right mind would open a restaurant, serve non halaal food and refuse entry to Pakistani nationals in ISLAMABAD? Actually that would make the resturant vunereable to terrorist attacks and Vandalism. Not to mention, I can assure you the resturant has NOT gone through the health department checks which would have sealed it for serving non halaal food(and Bacon I am guessing).

Personally I do not mind if someone is dinning French or eating bacon at home, discreetly imported in their own luggage. I Do however mind someone creating new problems for us at a time when we are already engaged in a War on terror(gone terribly wrong). Denying entry to Pakistanis in a restaurant in Pakistan?(Non Muslims and Muslims).

CDA I am sure(Capital development authority) has not issued the restaurant a valid trade certificate, Excise department can check for alcohol, and ISI should check who the hell is doing what and why at our expense. And Visa for the owner should be immediately revoked and he should be sent home,if he refuses deported. He can face civil suits on discrimination from there, and of course he can get the required permits,go through health checks(good luck with that btw) and re open as "people of all nationalities including local one, all races and religions welcomed" restaurant. Halaal food is not that bad(its pretty good actually),it can be used to make some excellent French cosine.

Why would I Need a PHD in Imraniaat?

Cold war is a time in history which is
arguably the most most important era of known human history as far
time line is concerned in many aspects(not religious) to date. Human
life has arguably seen unprecedented comforts resources and
resources.

There is a lot of disagreement in this
area but In my (very humble)opinion the history of Cold War Precedes
second world war. If you ask me, at the least the invention of
penicillin should be included in this era(Greater cold war era?) to
study several aspects of the time. The invention of Penicillin
according to many is as extension of medical practices and advances
of the Colonial (Pre and post) era, and I do not wish to disagree.
However it is my opinion as a student of history that this invention
is brought into consideration while studying several aspects of
advancements/changes in Human history even when studying second part
of 20th century.

If books written about cold war alone
of the era are put together, they would probably fill many tens of
rooms like the one I am sitting in(and I mean in form of storage not
library). Imran Khan would blast off with with summing it up in one
sentence, like: We shold not have been at US side during the cold war

while some of the thoughts I mentioned
above would come to mind plus more questions, whether he means if we
should not have sided with the free world? Was neutrality really an
option? Why did Afghanistan oppose Pakistani membership of the
UN(presumably on Soviet request), how is it that a senior leader
like him can not know the history of Congress with USSR precedes
independence??

While you think all that, after this
one sentence Imran would jump onto another Pandora's box giving the
final verdict:

It is our sins during the Soviet
occupation that we are paying the price today

Another Pandora's box. Seriously? Ever
heard of Original Sin Mr.Khan? Is your speech writer a Catholic who
wrote it without your permission? How is it that someone can believe
a man is born into sin? One can think of a few very valid points
Dr.Naiks usually makes during his debates with Christians.

Like Bible: Ezikel 19-20

19"Yet
you say, 'Why should the son not bear the punishment for the father's
iniquity?' When the son has practiced justice and righteousness and
has observed all My statutes and done them, he shall surely live.
20"The
person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for
the father's iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for
the son's iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon
himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.
21"But if
the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and
observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he
shall surely live; he shall not die.…

And Quran:

“…No person earns any (sin) except
against himself (only), and no bearer of burdens shall bear the
burden of another…” (Quran 6:164)

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica";">"That
no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of
another. And that man can have nothing but what he does (of good and
bad). And that his deeds will be seen, Then he will be recompensed
with a full and the best recompense [fair] " (Quran 53:38-41)”

Apnay gunahoon ki Khan sab tauba kar
gaye hein aur logoon ko nakarda gunahoon ki saza milnay ka fatwa day
rahey hein

Subhaan Allah

Then he would jump to another issue
that would put your mind into spin:

“We committed a mistake by entering
the war on terror, the terrorism is a result of that”

Alright, let me play devil's advocate
here. Say if Imran Khan was in power at sep 11 2001 in Pakistan. And
the next day he received a phone call from the US President:

“Mr.Imran, we have reasons and
proof(however self righteous) to believe elements supported by your
Government were behind the attacks, we have a coalition of 90
countries waiting for our order.. 25 Trident, the ballistic missiles
which fires from underneath sea, oversimplified for your Mr.Khan,
nuclear armed submarines are waiting near your coastline for our
orders. Three air craft carriers and 1000 fighter, fighter
bombers, full time bombers. 851 delivery vehicles and 22000 Strategic
Nuclear Missiles and public opinion can be unleashed on you and your
people on a moment's notice. Your children and ex wife in UK have
been surrounded by the CIA and would be declared enemy combatants
and taken to our secret(so far undeclared) prison in Cuba. UN China
Saudi Arabia UAE Iran and other Middle eastern countries are on
board. Your opposition leaders have assured us they would support us
in case we decide to attack Pakistan.

You have two options, tell us clearly or
we would assume otherwise

Are you WITH US or AGAINST US?”

What do you think would Imran say? Me?
I don't think Imran would say much,I think he would say Sir you
should ask the new leader because I resigned at first part of your
phone call

At least Musharraf had a policy(however
flawed), Imran would simply flee to UK or US requesting political
asylum.

By now if an Imran suppurter is reading
he would be jumping to ask me,as would be Imran's next sentence:

“Whaatt OO whaatt Jee wattt logic is
that? SLAVE or ally? Why not the third option while looking in their
eyes.”

Now your mind would go in another spin
and you would be dying to tell him and ask him, how manrted he
actually(according to him) volunteered to vote for Musharraf in April
2002 MONTHS after the Afghan war started!! I was not.. Imran was.

Then the most interesting of all logic
would come:

“Musharraf wanted to make me
President and I declined”

Aaaah aarrrrrrrrr everyone from Aitzaz
Ahsan,CJ(Governor in his case)Amin Fahim,Nawazy countries have had
the luxury during war time? When international opinion is turned into
that kind of spin, sometimes the only option is neutrality and
transit! O but wait, that would probably be my second point. My first
being..Imran SUPPORTED Musharraf's decision ..! Not only he suppo
Sharif,Benazir,Javed hashmi,Shehbaz Sharif and Allah alone knows how
many others think Musharraf was dying to make them Prime Minister.
The only problem is he did not. And I for personal reason am aware
that it was Imran who first requested a meeting with Musharraf not
Musharraf.

And if I do not turn TV off or change
the channel Imran would be babbling about something to do with some
SP(superintendent Police).

While one woild be pushed deep into
thoughts about how petty he has become,or he always was. Separation
of powers,US constitution, British doctrines and Don't even know what
else. At least a page full of stuff when he would be whining about
some politician:

“Who has/did/had assured him has
observed “Tauba” from his past ways and plans to reform”

while one would then be taken from
thoughts ranging from Q.U.Shahab's book where he quoted all the
bureaucrats who made a similar speech to the fact that all the
politicians always say that he would jump into another topic.

At this point usually one would be only
able to see Imran babbling and can barely comprehend him Yelling what
one's perceptions translates as “Amriaaaat Jamhooriat!!
Dictatorship! Democracy! Dictator Dictator Dictator!!” in his fit
of rage and would be thinking “I ..But ..I don't agree with
Parlimentry democracy without comprehensive intra paty elections,it
IS dictator ship” but soon after that one would not be able to
understand what he is saying(or what one wants to think),close to
Catatonia due to over thinking one would be obliged to ignore him.
One needs a PHD in Imraniaat(not sociology in Urdu, “Imran
Khaniaat”) to understand Imran's point of view. And one can only
tell oneself the only thing Ill Informed Imran watched is Geo and his
speech writers write what they want.

May Allah guide us all,and humble
enough to seek guidance(ameen)..!

Interesting Budget indeed, Don't mind the extra taxes on luxury items, or direct taxation. Increase in VAT and increase in its scope(even to Milk) is indeed a BAD idea. It would effectively raise the price of Milk and related items like Butter cheese etc. by 16% by immediate effect for packaged ones and in the near future for Gawala Milk and products.
But again its hardly surprising as One can recall This team was the one which introduced VAT in Pakistan during the late 90s at the first place raising prices by 15% at the time. But where the hell is austerity? And NO I do not mean petty issues like PM house or Government house. Rs.500 something Billion Rs development budget at this point in time is outrageous Surely other more productive areas (industrialization anyone?) areas can provide employment instead of Bridges to nowhere...They would probably yield less kickbacks and commissions for Lohaar though

So..The Foreign backed unrest starts in Turkey too..
I feel it won't succeed in Turkey for a number of reasons. Their
attachment and love for their religion(by far) would be a deciding
factor eventually...they have the will infrastructure(by far) and Forces
to defend themselves. Unlike Libya Somalia Sudan Yemen and Afghanistan.
Their infrastructure, forces, love for their religion and attachment to
their heritage(that of Islam) are far superior then many other
countries entangled in this crisis.

Their armed forces are
professional(although lack Nuclear Umbrella) but still its by far the
most Superior the "conspirators" have face to date that have faced such
kind of warfare. comparable to perhaps only Pakistan where Fourth and
Fifth Generation are being waged . Its easily noticeable,a simple rule
of the thumb I have to judge a country. The countries which have fought
wars, pitched battles(Syria and Egypt) in the past and have good
conventional forces are not very easy to digest even in the most vicious
of fourth generation war(Syria). Fourth and Fifth generation warfare
have failed to perish Pakistan after more then a decade of Very Direct
NATO and CIA involvement. Apart from Providence I personally attribute
this fact to a couple of reasons, two of them being:

1. A professional Army which is designed to fight foreign incursions and all out war.
2.
Tolerance Threshold of People..People refuse to chase shadows and make
unreasonable choices despite economy in near collapse. Artificial
Chronic power shortage touching 50-70% electricity outages. As the media
puts it "Log bayhis hein". I would gladly say behis nai aqal valay hein
that they are not going in streets because idiots like Hamid Mir asks
them to.

It is of interest and requires further research about
the over use of agitation to Remove Ayub in the 60s has a part to play
in it. After all no one wanted a person like Bhutto in Power which he
turned out to be. And since 1970 elections his party has never been able
to form a government in Punjab Province despite I donno..CIA Deals..
Assassinations(General Zia) NRO.. What have they not tried but PPP never
had a majority in Punjab after their role in 71. General Zia might have
been a good man,but it is the sad truth that sometimes he patronised
idiots like Nawaz Sharif and in 77 it was the people who suffered. What I
think is they also have a memory in the back of their minds about 1977
agitations leading to nowhere. I am aware of the counter argument that
removal of Bhutto alone was a great deal and 77 was a success. In my
Opinion Memory of the Political Chaos to nowhere during the 90s further
"enlightened" people.

Another reason that historians would note is, this campaign in Pakistan and Turkey is fundamentally flawed. You can not expect to make fun of Kargil, equate it with 71 and our so called "Debacles" (as the enforces of CIA backed war put) in 65. Except creating a list of discredited people, among them some sad old Alcoholics like Nusrat Javed and Hassan Nisar, killing more then a hundred thousand Pakistanis in direct terrorist actions and effecting tens of millions in indirect actions and opportunity costs this war is basically a stalemate and has gone nowhere.
Even a further escalation for 5th Generation war(which is an evolving concept if you ask me) did't help much.

To my Friends who think Imran Khan is some kind of Super Hero.. Must not go overboard when trying to defend a liberal. The very belief that one thinks only one is right and refuses to even accept a shred of reason wars have been fought..We must never become the demon we are fighting...
After all we are still double minded about if ENDS justify the means? Are we not?
Graveyards are filled with people who once had a good intention but ended up killing..hundreds..Thousands..Millions in some cases..Do you think thats how Gaddafi thought things would turn out when he took over? What about Idi Amin? Do you think a young Gandhi or a young Nehru imagined they would end up killing millions? Do you think Hitler at Munich thought he would end up killing tens of millions? A young passionate Stalin(Hard to imagine but bare with me)?
What about General MacArthur who considered Nuking Korea? He gave this speech:
"
I am closing my 52 years of military service. When I joined the Army, even before the turn of the century, it was the fulfillment of all of my boyish hopes and dreams. The world has turned over many times since I took the oath on the plain at West Point, and the hopes and dreams have long since vanished, but I still remember the refrain of one of the most popular barrack ballads of that day which proclaimed most proudly that "old soldiers never die; they just fade away."

Have an open mind. Do NOT act like the people you are fighting

28 May...... Was told before I went to preschool that Pakistan has Nuclear weapons(early 80s)..Now am told my Grandfather was told we soon after we acquired nuclear capability(1983)Reaffirmed in early 90s when I had the honor of meeting a nuclear scientist who paid us a visit..Explained the difference between hydrogen bomb and simple vala nuclear bomb and just smiled meaningfully when I asked him if we have thermonuclear devices..Must be mid 90s..In 1998..Was so passionate about the nuclear tests that I would have gladly volunteered to assassinate Nawaz Sharif who was constantly showing reluctance..Despite Growing Public and military pressure.. My Grand Uncle.. Professor/principle of GC sargodha/Director Colleges Mr.Abdul Hameed (RIP) ..The same person who first told me what is "The protocols of the elders of Zions"when I was a kid..Told us (cause of his sources) that when we(the Pakistanis) actually pressed the button the bomb did't go off for a few seconds(later confirmed by media)..And then he told us when the bomb actually exploded against odds all the scientists went to Sajda e shukar at that very moment and Dr.A Q Khan actually said those were the longest seconds of his life...
As they knew..A failure means an instant attack on our strategic assets...An imminent American/Israeli/Indianan attack because of which the test was rushed..Not many people remember at the night of 27th there was a countrywide black out for a few second because intelligence reported an attack on our strategic assets(If you youtube a but you can find then foreign ministers Gohar Ayub Confirming the threat)..The website I subscribed to which used to email a translated Jummay ka Khutba from Masjib al Aqsa(Occupied Land)..Where they prayed for Pakistan...
There is a Reason I romanticize Pakistani ideology..From Indonesia to Morroco that day people celebrated and despite US And UN sanctions all the Muslims countries congratulated Pakistan. Saudi Arabia actually loaned three years worth of oil(later written off as expected). Delegation arrived from all over the world..Remember seeing a Syrian one of TV. THAT DAY there were celebration in Palestinian refugee Camps.. THAT Day even the most "Casual about international events then" cousin said lets fire a few bursts of AK 47 and celebrate. We didn't because he was later (unfortunately) stung by a scorpion later that day..The day I remember my dad offering do nafal of shukrana after hearing about the much expected tests on CNN BREAKING NEWS(then a big event).

What sounds like yesterday I had a bitter exchange of words with a
Libyan Rebel propagandist. With one of them eventually taunting me if I
have taken the job of Musa Ibrahim and that my job would a short one. It is unfortunate most of his logic was much
like most my friends use for Imran Khan. That what is the other choice,
and how stupid and arrogant I am for supporting Gaddafi who had suled
for what four decades ? And that I am supporting a Dictator.
And how
soon I would be either coming to Libya for Business claiming I was
always a Gaddafi opponent or envy the Libyan progress. Or even see the
implementation of "Real Islam". Needless to say NO SIR I WAS NOT a fan
of Mr.Gaddafi(Neither I am of Nawaz Sharif),on the contrary I had my
share of disagreements with him and NO I DONT think ANYONE except the
British Petroleum wants to go to Libya to do business these days.

They(the
rebels)were just too naive or powerless to see the fact behind the so
called "Arab Spring". The finances behind Imran Khan may look normal and
coming from Donations today but one day soon in the future PTI
supporters would be asking them real questions. Although I don't blame
them entirely, Popularity of IK is for the same reason Bhutto was
popular, same reason people would even follow a person like TUQ whose
..whose ..personality/character I know for personal reason is highly
questionable to say the least.

The reason is simple,people are
just too tang or frustrated. Unfortunately their love is misdirected and
at this stage I sometimes feel explaining them everything rationally is
even asking too much. However, the privileged ones should have some
sense. Too much of tv and too little of history books, recipe for
disaster.

Needless to see by 20th things would have cleared,a week should be dramatic and I ask Allah for kher.
In
these situation, which I think it is now..Providence takes it course. I
don't think anyone is calling the shots now. General Kayani lost the
anchor long ago. Now from the ashes and dust something new is to rise. I
do hope that would be for the best.

I do not for a moment
believe it is our destiny that we would perish. I do think Pakistan has
Prophet Muhammad's (saw)'s blessing and it is not Allah's will for
Pakistan to perish. Then I suppose by default we await a glorious
destiny.

I don't know how it would come,I am not a wali or
darvaish. I have my shares of crosses to carry. But a day of reckoning
as Mario Puzo put in Godfather may not be beyond the 20th. And those who
have not read the novel(being majority of people who have seen the
movie) it is when don kills all his enemies. I do mean it partly as a
figure of speech and partly I do fear it is inevitable. Not the killing
of enemies alone, the whole scenario I blogged about recently. And I do
assume no one would bother to read upto this point,if someone has and
wants to read my blog one can message me I would be more then willing to
share the url.

With a strict blackout on Media on Anthony sense able being labelled a "conspiracy theory" most would disagree with this article.

Lets face it. General Kayani has failed us all. Someone said the other day that he is known as "Baji" in the Army. Please note for the record that I am not in favor of a Coup d'état
within the army, I am just (which you would realize later) of a view that it might simply be the last resort.

Lets face it, Nawaz Sharif would be able to win 30% of the seats at best, if you take my analysis, half the amount.

Imran at best would bag more or less same number of seats in the national assembly provided NWFP goes with IK.

Nawaz Sharif is no longer compatble with Pakistan more then Benazir Bhutto used to be,yes I believe he is a traitor and especially after his recent commitment to Indians to try the people behind Kargil war he is simply not acceptable. Do I need remind he had almost settled the Kashmir issue with LOC being the international border? Compromised on Kashmir? Which he proudly boasts about?

Can you try Military officers for attempting to liberate Kashmir? He said he would investigate Mumbai attack(the so called Mumbai attacks) implying Pakistan Army has some kind of hand in it. Would he then try General Pasha?

Iftikhar Chaudhry and co. are trying Musharraf for Bugti Murder, would they also try the soldier responding to rockets being fired from his side? Would he then also try our soldiers fighting TTP?

The golden question is,who would win in Balochistan. Pakistan Army has refused to provide protection to civilians(under the cover of obeying Zardari) and BLA are armed to the nail. You can not fight armed groups in ballot when you don't have bullets(remember 71?). ANP has in the five years appointed countless people in critical positions who can help them win.

What if BLA wins the polls by gun and the Indian Puppet regime declares autonomy or so called independence. With MQM and ANP following suite? Where would we stand then?

If elections are held in tribal areas, free and fair. With TTP allowed to hold a family hostage and ask half of it to vote for them, the 2013 version of free and fair who you think would win?

The Trillion Dollar Question of our times would be then..What would Army do? Would people accept General Kayani who decided to sit back and smoke it off as the country refuses to perish despite 16 hours(literally) of Load shedding? Would the core commanders tell General Kayani to go(like Yahya?)?.

Would people not ask for the blood of those responsible at that late stage? How did the Army let things come to that? They can leak one photo file or video and discredit Imran Nawaz and Zardari..

My question is if and when/there would be a choice between country and Kayani would the commanders act? What are they waiting for?

The world is at a stage where even fourth generation war has become obsolete. We are into the times when Israel bombs Syria and instead of it taken as an act of war and the Muslim world reacting in anger it is accepted as a regular event,a place where US planes(unmanned supposedly) bomb Pakistan and its no big deal.
We live in times when a Pakistan Ranger is sentenced to death when he shoots a man who tries to go for his gun because of edited foot ages repeating on media and a CJ who like media attention. And then he punishes the commanding officer who is good 10 ranks above the officer and never ordered the act of self defence(or a mistake at worst). Would army go out of the way and help PTI so they can wait out the American occupation in Afghanistan..? Would they help win in Balochistan? Is Nawaz Sharif more dangerous? It doesn't seem likely that Army would do that. For the moment its armed to the teeth Indian backed terrorists in Balochistan NWFP and Karachi.

What are you waiting for Mr.Kayani? Or whoever would replace him(one way or another).
